Week 11: 06/10/2025-11/10/2025

 The eleventh week of teaching practice began on 6th October 2025. On 7th October 2025, I took a class for Standard 9F on the topic “Impulsive Force.” During the introduction, I presented different situations and asked the students to arrange them, helping to check their prior understanding of force. In Activity 1, I showed a video related to kicking a ball and hitting an iron nail with a hammer, which helped them visualize the concept clearly. In Activity 2, I displayed various pictures and guided the students to identify instances of balanced and unbalanced forces. For the closure, the students’ understanding of the definition was assessed through discussion.


On 9th October 2025, I conducted a class for 8D on the topic sonority of chapter “Metals and Non-metals.” During the introduction, I sang a short song to create interest and smoothly introduced the concept. In Activity 1, I provided different objects and asked students to identify those that produced sound. In Activity 2, I presented a video and guided them to define the property of sonority. For the closure, I narrated a short story and encouraged the students to differentiate between sonorous and non-sonorous materials based on their learning.

Co curricular activities were less during the week as everyone was busy in preparing students for sub district competition.

Overall, the week was engaging and interactive, as students participated enthusiastically in the activities and demonstrated a clear understanding of the concepts.

 During this week, I had the opportunity to handle Class 9F for the introduction of the chapter Sound and its continuation. On 27th January 2026, the chapter was introduced for the first time using the 5E instructional model. Since this model emphasizes active student engagement and inquiry-based learning, the class initially felt challenging to manage. However, as the lesson progressed, the topic itself captured the students’ interest. The use of varied learning experiences related to sound helped in sustaining their attention.                     This was my first week of teaching practice at VPMHSS Vellarada for my third semester teaching practice in  B.Ed programme. I reached the school at 9:00 am in  all days of the week without any delay. Teaching practice (week 2) 21/07/2025 - 26/07/2025

 The second week of my teaching practice turned out to be an enriching experience with both classroom sessions and co-curricular activities adding variety to the week.                     On 21st July, I handled a class for 8D during the 7th period. The topic was “Elements”, and I tried to make the session more engaging through different activities. For the introduction, I performed a simple experiment followed by an activity that caught the attention of the students. I introduced the concept of atoms and built the foundation for the topic. For the closure activity, I gave the students a word rearrangement task, where they had to form the definition of elements.
