Week 9

During this week, I had the opportunity to handle Class 9F for the introduction of the chapter Sound and its continuation. On 27th January 2026, the chapter was introduced for the first time using the 5E instructional model. Since this model emphasizes active student engagement and inquiry-based learning, the class initially felt challenging to manage. However, as the lesson progressed, the topic itself captured the students’ interest. The use of varied learning experiences related to sound helped in sustaining their attention. The effective use of sound-based stimuli created curiosity among students and motivated them to participate actively, leading to better classroom interaction and engagement. On 29th January 2026, which was the last working day of School Internship Phase 2, I took the sixth period for Class 9F on the topic Propagation of Sound. The lesson began with a game-based activity where students classified sounds into artificial and natural sounds, which created an en...

Week 8

The eight-week teaching practice commenced on 19th January 2026. On the first day, optional subject observation was conducted. I handled Class 8D with the topic “Surface Tension – the Unique Property of Water.” For the introduction, students’ previous knowledge was elicited using a collocation activity and tissue paper demonstration. For Activity 1, a pin-and-water matching activity was given to help students understand the concept of surface tension. Activity 2 involved a magic experiment using milk, which effectively demonstrated surface tension and provided an engaging learning experience for the students. On 20th January 2026, I took a class for 8D on the topic “Boiling Point of Water.” The lesson was structured based on the AOM model. Although the class initially showed slight boredom, the students gradually became actively involved and participated well in the learning process. On 21st January 2026, I again handled Class 8D on the topic “Boiling Point and Pressure – the Uniq...

Week 7

During the seventh week of teaching practice, on 13th January 2026, I handled class 8D on the topic Hard Water and Soft Water from the Chemistry unit Water. The lesson was introduced by showing a video on different sources of water, which helped to create interest among the students. As Activity 1, a demonstration of lather formation using hard water and soft water was conducted. The students observed the activity with great curiosity and enthusiasm. Following this, the chemical aspects of hard water and soft water were explained in detail, enabling students to understand the reason for the difference in lather formation. On 14th January 2026, I took class 9F on the topic Law of Conservation of Energy from the Physics unit Work and Energy. As part of the introductory activity, a matching activity related to the concept was given to the students. For Activity 1, a model of a balloon toy car was displayed to demonstrate energy conversion. Activity 2 included showing a video on a hyd...

Week 6

The sixth week of the school internship marked the resumption of internship activities after the third-semester examinations. The week focused mainly on re-engaging students in academic learning through interactive and ICT-supported teaching strategies. On 7th January 2026, I handled a class for IX F during the 5th period on the topic “Factors Affecting Kinetic Energy.” The lesson was made engaging through the use of visuals related to potential and kinetic energy, which stimulated students’ thinking. Discourse techniques were effectively used to guide students in identifying and formulating the factors affecting kinetic energy, promoting active participation and conceptual understanding. On 8th January 2026, I conducted a Chemistry class for VIII D on the topic “Solubility” from the unit Water. The lesson was ICT-based, with well-designed slides that captured students’ attention. Concept-based questions were provided through QR codes and digital links, offering students a novel a...
