Teaching practice (week 8):15/09/2025 -19/09/2025
During 8th week, I took three classes. On 15th september I took class for 9F on the topic momentum.I began by checking the students’ prior knowledge through a short interactive discussion. To make the concept more concrete, I provided a real-hand experience using Newton’s Cradle, which helped them visualize how inertia works in real situations. The understanding was further reinforced by giving a related problem to solve, followed by appropriate closure activities to summarize the concept effectively.
On 17th September, I handled a class for 9F on the topic Rate of Change of Momentum. The session started with a few thought-provoking questions to assess their previous understanding of momentum. For Activity 1, a numerical problem was given to strengthen their analytical skills, followed by Activity 2, where a higher-level problem was introduced to encourage critical thinking. The class concluded with a meaningful closure activity that helped the students consolidate the learning outcomes.
On the same day, I took a class for 8D on Electrical Conductivity. To introduce the topic, I provided some real objects and asked students to classify them as malleable and ductile metals. In Activity 1, I demonstrated a model to explain electrical conductivity, while in Activity 2, students actively participated in classifying objects as conductive or non-conductive. The class ended with a closure activity where students successfully sorted materials based on their conductivity, followed by a follow-up and enrichment activity for extended learning.
Apart from classroom activities, the week was vibrant with co-curricular engagements. Off-stage competitions for the School Kalolsavam were conducted, where students showcased their talents enthusiastically. On 18th and 19th September, Science, Social Science, and IT exhibitions were held, displaying the creativity and scientific spirit of the students. A yoga session and an awareness class on entrepreneurship were also organized, making the week more holistic and enriching for both teachers and students.
