Teaching practice (week 7) 10/09/2025 - 12/09/2025

The seventh week of my teaching practice began on 10th September 2025, as the school reopened after the Onam vacation on 8th September. Returning to the classroom atmosphere after the short break was refreshing, and the students were equally enthusiastic to resume their lessons and activities. On 10th September, I handled a class for  9F during the fifth period. The topic taught was “Inertia” from the chapter Laws of Motion. Before introducing the new concept, a quick review of Newton’s First Law of Motion was done to establish a connection between the previous and current topics. To make the concept more relatable, I began with Activity 1, where a video of passengers moving in a bus was shown to help students visualize the effect of inertia in real-life situations. This was followed by a hands-on classroom experiment, which helped students explore and understand the idea more deeply through direct observation and discussion. The next class was conducted on 12th September 2025, continuing the same chapter. The topic for the day was “Mass and Inertia.” The session was designed to be entirely experiential, allowing students to actively engage with the concept through simple yet effective demonstrations such as the card-and-coin experiment and the empty and filled water bottle experiment. These activities sparked curiosity and provided students with a clear understanding of how mass influences inertia.During this week, I took a total of two classes, both of which were highly interactive and focused on developing conceptual clarity through observation and participation.

The co-curricular atmosphere of the school was equally vibrant this week. A quiz competition for high school students was conducted under the suoervision of the Social Science Club, encouraging healthy academic competition and teamwork among students. Furthermore, the Annual School Sports Meet was held on 11th and 12th September, showcasing the students’ enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Various track and field events were organized, and the selected students were later sent to represent the school at the sub-district level sports competitions.Overall, the week was a blend of active learning and vibrant school spirit, making it both academically enriching and personally rewarding.
